Energy efficiency will go a long way in helping you enjoy your home throughout every season in Canada. From cost savings to comfort and drafts to noise reduction, investing in energy-efficient windows and patio doors provide numerous benefits, especially those products that carry the Energy Star rating.

Triple Glaze or Triple-Pane Windows

Companies will often use the term triple glazed and triple-pane interchangeably. In essence, they mean the same thing: Three pieces of glass go into making the window.

Bavarian Windows is proud to install Ostaco and Hometech windows — both offer 1 ⅜” glazing for optimal performance. 1 ⅜” triple glazed windows are considered to be the “gold standard” in window construction.

Here are some reasons why we recommend triple-pane windows for your home:

Home Efficiency

In the winter, triple glazed windows with a high R-Value will not only keep the cold out but they will also increase solar heat gains.

When comparing factors such as the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), or U-values, there is an approximate improvement of 20-30% in a triple pane windows’ energy ratings.

If you’re going to be replacing the windows in your house, a great way to reduce your heating bills and increase your comfort level is to install triple glazed windows.

The Cardinal Sealed unit by Hometech achieved an industry record with an R-Value of R-9.4.

Soundproofing

Soundproofing your home from the noisy outside world is a task that can be achieved with professionally-installed triple-pane windows.

You can have windows and doors with the best soundproof rating in the world (and triple-pane windows tend to score highly here), but if the window or door isn’t installed properly, it will all be for naught in the end.

“Soundproof glass won’t do you much good if your windows have gaps or cracks between the seals,” writes Modernize.com.

That’s why the professional team of installers at Bavarian Windows puts their years of experience to work and takes the time it takes to do the job right. A quality install equals quality results.

Natural Resources Canada 2020 Ratings
