What To Expect When Replacing Your Windows
At Bavarian Windows, we understand that home renovations can be stressful, so we’ve written this blog to lend some insight into what to expect when replacing your windows and give you some peace of mind.
Bavarian’s Guarantee
Pre-Installation
During your initial consultation, our team will provide you with the most up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and products. At our showroom, we’ll work with you to navigate through our wide selection of options including appropriate colour and hardware selections for your home. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that your windows reflect your personal taste and lifestyle and that you’ll still love them many years down the road.
Once you’ve chosen your desired windows, an experienced window and door expert will come to your home to take measurements, answer your questions, and ensure that they have everything they need to order all the necessary products.
Once all the details and measurements have been confirmed, the products are ordered from the manufacturer. Once Bavarian receives the product, we will inspect it for damage and our office will contact you to set up a date for installation. Next, we employ an appropriately-sized crew dedicated to your project to ensure we cause as little disruption to your life as possible.
Window Installation Day
Once we begin the installation, our skilled technicians and installers will see your project through from start to finish. At Bavarian, we work with skilled crews who are supervised by a reputable veteran that’s been in business for over 38 years.
We know that providing service with a team we’ve handpicked and worked with for years ensures that the finished project always meets our high standard of excellence.
On the day of installation, our team will remove their shoes and use moving blankets, where needed, to treat your home as if it were their own — we respect that your home is not a job site.
Our Process
Our standard has always been to use only finger joint pine, we don’t use MDF, (medium-density fibreboard), which is lower quality and is often manufactured with formaldehyde. In addition, we use only WURTH insulation and glass cleaner, because of their high-quality European product standards. Finally, we will caulk all the inside trim after installation so that it’s ready for paint!
Cleanup
After your project is complete, we will conduct a thorough clean up of our work area. This includes using glass cleaner on all your windows and vacuuming and dusting to remove any remaining sawdust. Our commitment is that we leave your home the way it was when we arrived — or better.
Final Inspection
At the end of every project, our experienced technician will follow a Final Inspection Checklist and inspect all of your windows to ensure that everything is perfect and level.
We’ll also take the necessary time to show you how to operate your windows to ensure that everything opens and closes smoothly and that you feel comfortable using your new windows.
In the event that there are any issues with your new windows, we have a full-time service department and a full-time service coordinator dedicated to helping fix your issues right away.
How You Can Prepare For Your Window Installation
Clear The Area
There’s no need to remove furniture in the room where the installation is taking place because our team will only be working within a few feet of each window. Ensuring that space directly below and surrounding your windows is cleared and that pictures mounted on nearby walls are removed is all we ask.
Pets
Take comfort in knowing that our team is full of animal lovers! Since we work on one window at a time, we will close each door to protect your pets and keep the cold from circulating through your house. It’s entirely up to you whether or not you want to remove your pet from your home or seclude them to a single room during installation — it’s not required, but it is recommended.
We hope that this blog was helpful in preparing you for what to expect when replacing your windows!
