How To Access New Energy Efficiency Rebates
Upgrading your windows and doors with energy-efficient products can reduce your energy consumption and enhance the comfort of your home. To help you do this, the province of Ontario joined Enbridge Gas for the co-delivery of the Canada Greener Homes Initiative. All eligible Ontarians can access the new single portal via Enbridge Gas’s enhanced Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program.

What changes have been made to the Canada Greener Homes Initiative?
- New applicants in Ontario must apply through the Enbridge Gas Home Energy Rebate Plus program (HER+) to be considered for both the provincial grant program (HER+) and the federal grant initiative, the Canada Greener Homes Grant.
- Ontario homeowners who applied for the Canada Greener Homes Grant before January 4, 2023, can continue using the Canada Greener Homes Grant portal to make changes to their application, send or receive documents, or request funding.
- The co-delivery of this program through the HER+ in Ontario will allow more homeowners to be eligible to access the benefits of both programs through a single application and streamlined process, regardless of their home heating fuel type.
How can this partnership help you upgrade your windows and doors?
The Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program offers a range of new rebates of up to $10,000 to homeowners who make high-impact upgrades, including:
Home Energy Assessments: Up to $600 back to determine which upgrades are right for your home.
Windows and Doors: Up to $325 back for each high-performance window or door.
Air Sealing: Up to $1300 back to eliminate drafts, improve air quality, and save energy with draft proofing.
Home Insulation: Up to $10,000 back to improve comfort, reduce energy costs, and prevent moisture damage.

Are the Canada Greener Homes Grants and Loans still available?
The following Canada Greener Homes Initiative offerings are still available in addition to the Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program:
Grants of up to $5,000:
The program offers grants of up to $5,000 to help you cover the cost of your upgrades. You can use the grant money to upgrade your windows and doors, insulation, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Click here to be directed to the right application page.
Low-interest loans:
If you need more money than the grant amount in order to complete your upgrades, the program also offers low-interest loans of up to $40,000. You can use the loan to finance your improvements and pay it back over time. Click here to be directed to the right application page.
What are the steps to apply for these rebates, grants, and loans?
STEP 1:
Visit the Enbridge Gas website for a complete list of eligibility criteria.
STEP 2:
To apply for these programs, you must first book an energy assessment with a licensed registered energy advisor. A list will be provided to you upon completion of the questionnaire on the HER+ webpage.
STEP 3:
Schedule and conduct the energy assessment. An energy advisor will evaluate your home’s energy efficiency and recommend upgrades. Once you receive your energy assessment report, you can apply for the program online, then contact us to start a quote.

STEP 4:
