Stronger means more durable. RevoCell® windows are designed with a revolutionary technology called Microcellular PVC (mPVC).
This material is much stronger than traditional PVC because it is made with a solid core compared to the hollow chamber construction used in tradition PVC windows. Our windows last longer and will be more durable over time.
Casement Window Styles
Casement windows replaced stone mullioned windows at the end of the 18th century. Back then, they were hand-crafted using iron and small panes of glass.
Since those times, casement window styles have come a long way with what is possible. They are now available in a wide range of sizes, colours, and pane options.
- Push-Out Windows: A folding lever is used to push the window outward to open.
- In-Swing French Windows (Double Casement Windows): A casement window crack moves inwards to pull the windows inside to open.
- Common Post Windows: A central post is shared by two windows on either side.
Casement Window Lock
To open or close a window, most units have a casement window locking handle or a casement window crank. These are used to manually open or close these types of windows and come in a variety of colours and finishes.
Casement windows will typically be outfitted with an automatic casement window lock, a press lock, or a swing lock. These types of windows are very sturdy and effective against intruders, making them a great choice for security.
How Do I Know if I Need a Casement Window Replacement?
While there are many reasons to replace your casement windows, here are the most common situations that homeowners experience:
- Wooden casements showing signs of rot and/or mould.
- Window sashes require constant fixing.
- Single-paned windows, from before 1978, may have lead-based paint.
